Hi everyone! I’m Kyle Cruickshanks, Business Intelligence Practice Lead at CloudKettle. Today we’ll explore data visualization options for Salesforce Data Cloud.

So, first things first… What is Data Cloud?

Salesforce Data Cloud, formerly known as Salesforce CDP or Genie, is a platform that ingests and unifies all your customer data from any system, channel, or data stream in near real-time.

It breaks down data silos, providing a single source of truth for a comprehensive view of your customers. With Data Cloud, you can access harmonized customer profiles, segment audiences, and activate insights across all Salesforce apps, allowing you to deliver personalized experiences at every touchpoint.

But, while Data Cloud excels at data unification, it lacks a powerful built-in visualization tool.

Bridging the Gap
While Data Cloud offers basic reporting through Data Cloud reports that are similar to Salesforce Lightning dashboards, but limitations do exist. To more clearly visualize some of the advanced insights which data cloud can produce, you will likely require a dedicated analytics solution to bridge that gap.

Third-Party Platforms
Luckily, Salesforce Data Cloud seamlessly integrates with Salesforce’s data visualization tools Tableau and CRM Analytics. Other tools like Power BI, and Looker have also developed out of the box integrations for Salesforce Data cloud. These tools connect to Data Cloud, and allow you to visualise Data Model Objects (DMOs) and Calculated Insights.

Native Salesforce Solutions
With tools like Tableau and CRM Analytics, you can dive deep into your data – explore trends, identify patterns, and uncover hidden insights. Best of all if you are leveraging data from multiple Salesforce sources you can use CRM Analytics to embed these insights directly into platforms like Sales Cloud! This allows you to put compelling visualizations that tell the story behind your data directly in front of your end users where they need it most.

Exploring the Options
The integration landscape for Data Cloud is still evolving. As the platform matures, we can expect more data visualisation tools to offer out of the box integration with it. However, the options we discussed today already provide robust solutions to visualize and analyze your Data Cloud assets.

Salesforce Data Cloud is your data powerhouse. By leveraging the right visualization tools, you can unlock its full potential and gain invaluable insights to drive your business forward.
