The season for late nights, deep discounts, and last minute deals. The season for renewing old relationships, and hurried calls to folks you haven’t seen or heard from in months. Of course, we’re talking about the end of fiscal – the most wonderful (Sales) time of the year 🙂
All joking aside, it’s also the time of year to be reflective, to celebrate the achievements of the year, and to be thankful. The time of year to thank clients, partners, and team members for helping make it another amazing year. A time for traditions both good and bad. Over the years, we’ve seen many ways to say thank you. From lavish parties and extravagant gifts to fruit baskets and gift cards. Sometimes, the way a company chooses to celebrate the holiday season says a lot about the company’s brand, values, and personality. Other times, it’s clearly an item on someone’s checklist – Dec. 1: sign cards and send gift baskets.
Now, I’m not saying cards and baskets are a bad thing. I’ve had more than my fair share of chocolates, snacks, and other treats. And I read every card we get. However, as this time of year came around again, I started to think…what could we do differently this year?
This year we decided we won’t be sending out corporate cards and gifts. Instead, we’ve given each CloudKettle team member $50 and challenged them, to make someone a little happier at this time of year. The only caveats being, whatever they choose can’t benefit them and they are encouraged to take a photo of their act of kindness to share with the team. It can also be done anonymously.
We’re excited to see what the team comes up with and how they choose to make a small difference. We will share the most creative ideas on our blog in the New Year.
If you’re reading this, we wish you and yours a Happy Year End Fiscal!
